CHAIRMAN MESSAGE

NBSE was established with the primary goal of making education accessible to students who cannot attend regular classes. The challenge we faced was to create an instructional delivery system that was not only convenient but also as effective as traditional classroom learning. Our aim was to develop a well-organized extended learning program that allowed students to pursue other activities without compromising their education. Utilizing the online medium was an excellent way to provide educational resources and overcome geographical constraints. The National Policy on Education recommended strengthening NBSE to expand open learning opportunities gradually at the secondary, senior secondary, and diploma levels nationwide and internationally. This would establish an independent education system with its own curriculum and examinations, leading to the issuance of certificates. The objective was to cater to the educational needs of students and working professionals in India and abroad, thereby advancing the cause of education. NBSE offers a practical and convenient approach to education. Comprehensive study materials are delivered online once students complete the admission process. The admission process itself is straightforward, requiring online registration, and students receive their enrollment numbers promptly. The instructional resources are language-neutral, allowing students to choose the language of their study materials. Furthermore, the results of successful students can be verified online. Promoting the idea of convenient education through the internet was a groundbreaking initiative suggested by the National Policy on Education, and we seized the opportunity to establish NBSE. The expansion of our instructional delivery and online educational facilitation both in India and abroad reflects our commitment to making education accessible to students worldwide. Students can select subjects from the provided scheme of studies listed in the table. However, to qualify for certification, they must successfully complete a minimum of five subjects, including at least one language or a maximum of two languages, as per the requirements. Sincerely, Dr.Shankar Prasad Chairman National Board of School Education India
